Dr. John Paul Watenya
President & FounderDr. John Paul Watenya is the Founder and President of the Association of Green Infrastructure for Sustainability (AGIFS) and the Chief Executive Officer of Green Bank Credit (GBC). He provides strategic leadership at the intersection of data, climate action, green investment, carbon markets and sustainable infrastructure.
With a Master’s degree in Data Science from KCA University and a first degree in Statistics from the University of Nairobi, Dr. Watenya brings an analytical and evidence-driven approach to climate and investment challenges. His work focuses on translating climate priorities into practical programmes, bankable projects, investment opportunities and measurable development outcomes.
Through AGIFS, he is advancing a platform that connects governments, investors, development partners, technical institutions, businesses and communities around green infrastructure, climate finance, renewable energy, carbon markets, ESG, climate resilience and capacity development across Africa.
